Sivepo

What is Sivepo

In 1994 Sivepo is founded by the Aalsmeer auction (VBA) and Bloemenveiling Holland, that is now FloraHolland. The main goal was to establish a plants packaging pool that would be used by all auctions thoughout the country to simplify the trade of plants and to speed up the logistics within the chain.

Sivepo is owner of the shared more-way packaging and monitors the supervision of the stocks, the transportation, the quality, the purchasing of new fust etc. The auctions take care of the taking in, the distribution and the settlement of the fust. The auctions charge the growers and traders for this service. A part of these rates is being paid to Sivepo.

The plants packaging (red) were the first to be part of the pool, followed by the more-way packaging for cut flowers in 1998. In 2002 the plants boxes became part of the pool and in 2003 the gray trays also. It is expected for 2007 that Sivepo will also be taking care for the one-way boxes. As of January first the detachable bleds are scheduled to become part of the pool. Since 2003 all Normpack activities are also being monitored by Sivepo.

The organization of Sivepo

Since 2003 the organization of Sivepo is set up with a Sivepo private limited partnership (Ltd.) and a Sivepo limited partnership (LP). The Ltd is charged with the executing of the activities set up in the LP. The shares are divided between FloraHolland (50%) and Aalsmeer (50%).
